A Walk In Heritage Town——Penang

Early in the morning, 5 girls squeeze in a small Savvy, without knowing the direction then depart heading to Penang, one of the beautiful island in Malaysia. As planned, we going to visit all the famous attraction in a day! Some people may say, hey, you guys should be insane! But, we really DID IT!

The ferry had reached the dock, the car is drive out from the ferry terminal and heading toward our first destination, Chew Jetty! It's a unique living heritage, the wooden house was build on the silts for the Chew Clan community. Chew Jetty was popular for the wall painting by Lithuanian artist, Ernest Zacharevic and the Malaysian film Ice Kacang Puppy Love directed by Ah Niu was shoot here too!

After taking one or two picture at Chew Jetty, we move to Lim Jetty, there are not as interesting as Chew Jetty so we leave there very soon. Is a hot day, we take a small break at the exit of Lim Jetty. On the same time, we take out the map that we bring to find the direction of the next destination. Finally, we going to visit the street art by Ernest Zacharevic! We checked the location for the first street art and move our path to there.

It's took time for us to visit all the street art since we lack of the sense of direction, but we din't give up until we found it! We start to sweat, like the foreigner, holding the map and walk street by street. Besides the interesting street art, the beauty of this historical town was in our eyes. The prosperous of this city and the way how Penangites work out with their life are capturing our attention since is quite fresh and interesting to us. After hours and hours, we finally finish looking all the street art. Although it is hot and tired, but it is worth  and I'm quite admired with our stamina. I never think we can remained committed for such a long hours.

Get back to the parking lot to take the car, the next destination would be Penang Peranakan Mansion. This was the typical home for the rich Babas and Nyonyas, and according to the narrator, the house was the biggest house in Penang! We was shocked when we know that. Inside, we can take a look of their unique lifestyle, traditions and customs. Every things about Babas and Nyonyas was being displayed, the clothes, the shoes, the kitchen and many others antiques that we never seen before was found here. Visiting to this Peranakan Museum is recalling me the blockbuster series drama starring by Jeanette Aw-The Little NyoNya. The magnificent building had bring us back to the story, the long dining table (Tok Panjang), the table for playing Cherki ( Peranakan's Card game ) and so forth.
Here we finished our walk, and is the time for movie! Oops, but wait a minute, why there is a "blue paper" clip on the wiper of the car ? Is a summon for parking outside parking lot! We are panic, but one thing that can only do is to pay the summons before the MPPP closed to get a half price discount. Without wasting any minutes of time, we reset the GPS to heading toward KOMTAR where the MPPP located. Luckily we were on time and paid the summons for RM15. Then, here the real movie time!

First Avenue, the new shopping center in Penang which we never visit before. Again, with the help of GPS we reach the destination safely. We direct walk toward the cinema to buy a movie ticket before we go lunch. After a few minutes discussion, we all decide to watch the movie named-BAIT. Hereafter, everyone was hungry so we toward the food court to fill up our stomach before continue shopping.

We went in the cinema again when the show started. This movie was quite excited, everyone of us was shouting and intense with the plot. After 1 hours and plus, we finally finished this horrible movie. And our last destination for the day was Straits Quay! The day is already dark since is already 9pm something, we are already tired and everyone in the car have no extra strength to talk much just think of take a short rest before reaching the destination. At Straits Quay, we can see there are so many yacht anchorage at the shore, the family, the couples and so forth. We also have chances to visit the popular Snoopy Cafe and shoot photo with the characters.

Around 11pm, we left Penang. The 3 girls sit backside were fall asleep and inside the car was silent since we all were so tired due to walk for the whole day. By the way, although it is totally use up all my stamina, but it was very amazing and was a good travel experience for us. Hope we can travel in this way again in others state. Good Night, world :)
